David Flitcroft takes charge of the home side for the first time after being named as the new permanent manager at Gigg Lane just days after his sacking by Barnsley.

A former Shakers player, Flitcroft has challenged his new squad to show their worth in the run up to the January transfer window when he gets the first chance to make new signings.

For Town, Aidy Boothroyd has sealed an extended loan deal for midfielder Ricky Ravenhill with Bradford City, saying: "I think he's the kind of guy that glues a team together.

"Ricky has been there and done it. He's won promotions before and he knows what this league is all about."

The two sides meet for the first time since Bury's 4-2 win at Sixfields in April 2011, Shaun Harrad putting some gloss on the scoreline for the Cobblers with two late goals.
