After snapping up loanee defender Zander Diamond on a permanent deal in the wake of the great escape, manager Chris Wilder signed another familiar face this week.
Striker Marc Richards is back at Sixfields for a second time and hoping to gain a second promotion in a row after helping Chesterfield into League One.
A new contract deal was on the table with the Spireites but Richards is keen to be a first-team regular in 2014/15.
His new side will play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday 12 July against Sileby Rangers after the success of last season's game at Fernie Fields.
Wilder will then take his squad to Scotland to step up their preparations.
