Another Good Day For Northampton Sport!

Northampton stunned Premiership table-toppers Saracens in their semi-final showdown at Allianz Park on Sunday to reach the Twickenham showpiece against Leicester Tigers, meaning another massive army of sports fans from the town heading towards the capital in the next few weeks.

An interesting aspect of the game was that it was played on Saracens' artificial surface, for which Northampton prepared by training on a 3G pitch at Tresham College near Kettering.

The Allianz Park pitch is used by the local community and provides a regular income stream to the rugby club. Football seems slightly behind the times in this aspect by not allowing league clubs to install such a surface, especially in view of the harsh winter we have endured.
