Another Scoring Debut As Northampton Held

Town were unlucky not to have taken all three points from an entertaining contest played in front of a crowd of 4,046.

Striker Luke Norris matched his Brentford teammate Stuart Dallas in making a goalscoring debut after a loan move but Aidy Boothroyd's future may have been up for discussion had Ian Morris not then equalised two goals in three minutes from the visitors which sent them at half-time in front.

That was reminiscent of last weekend's game at Oxford but the Cobblers fought back well and had the majority of chances, an aspect of the game that pleased manager Boothroyd.

He told the official NTFC website: "To go 2-1 down and still show the character and spirit that we did in the second half was really pleasing.

"We were brave and strong and Ian Morris scored a good goal."
