Adebayo Akinfenwa delighted his boss by coming through a planned 45 mins and getting a goal as well.
He said, "Bayo looked strong and got a goal. He played 45 minutes, that was always the plan, and he came through without any problems. This was a big step forward for him."
"We also topped Chris Doig up with 75 minutes and he came through fine as well. In fact, everyone came through unscathed and it was a successful exercise for us."
Gray is now fine tuning his team ready for this weekends big kick off against Cheltenham Town.
