Two bookmakers have priced up the market to be the next permanent boss of the Cobblers and they both agree that lower division specialist Martin Allen is the clear favourite.
After that, however, there is no real clear second favourite with the likes of Gary Megson and Sammy Lee mentioned as well as former Fleetwood manager Micky Mellon.
The lists have a host of names well-known in the game but will the Cobblers go for such a person or take a gamble on an unknown quantity such as Jon Brady, the man who has taken Brackley Town to the unchartered territory of the Football Conference.
