Boothroyd gives a nudge to Cobblers squad

Ryan Gilligan, Jason Crowe and Michael Built are not part of the manager's plans for next season with Boothroyd taking the decision to allow the players time to find new clubs.

With the manager left unamused however by his side's last two performances, especially Saturday's home defeat against Bradford which allowed the Bantams to leapfrog the Cobblers in League Two, Boothroyd will be hoping the announcement provides a timely reminder to his players.

With money available for new signings there is likely to be yet another summer of frantic transfer activity at Sixfields and the scramble for places in a squad that will be looking to challenge for promotion has already begun.
