Manager Jim Bentley warned at the beginning of March that Morecambe were in a relegation battle after a 10-game run without a victory.

That pressure was eased by home wins against Southend United and Newport County but the Shrimps were beaten 5-1 in a Lancashire derby at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night and are currently nine points above the drop zone.

Ahead of the game with Northampton, Bentley told BBC Radio Lancashire: It's every week that we look scared at set-plays and they [Accrington] took full advantage."

The Cobblers themselves go into the game on the back of a bad midweek result aftter their 3-0 reverse at home to Rochdale, leaving manager Chris Wilder equally as unhappy as Bentley with his side's display.

"The players know that the managerial staff aren't happy."
