Brighton v Cobblers. Match preview

Last updated : 24 February 2009 By Dave Foster
"We've got a batch of games coming up and you just have to look at what Yeovil have done" Gray continued. "They've won four on the trot and suddenly they've shot up the table.

"I'm putting the pressure on the players and on myself to go and get a result tonight.

"We can do all the talking we like but we know we've got to deliver. People keep saying we need to win ugly but what we have got to do is take some pride in the result rather than in the performance."

Gray is well aware that the slump in form is putting the club into a relegation battle and if Town lose again tonight it's not just 5 deferats in a row but Brighton, currently 4th from bottom, would leapfrog Northampton leaving Gray and the club is a precarious poisition.

As for the squad tonight Gray said

"Giles Coke picked up a knock on Saturday and didn't train so he's a doubt and Danny Jackman wasn't in yesterday either because he was ill.

"In the back of my mind I'm trying to prepare for tonight but I may just have to leave it until the last minute.

"Losing those two would be a blow because you don't want to lose any of your best players but we have to get on with it.

"If Danny feels fit enough then I know he will play."

Kick off at The Withdean is at 7:45pm.
