Carlisle skipper Danny Grainger, David Atkinson and Tom Miller could all return to contention for the home game against leaders Northampton.

Grainger has missed the last nine games due to an ankle injury, Atkinson has been struggling with a knock and Miller has been sidelined for over a month with a hamstring injury. All three defenders returned to full training this week.

Midfielder Brandon Comley has returned to parent club QPR for treatment on an ankle problem, while boss Keith Curle is hoping striker Charlie Wyke and goalkeeper Dan Hanford can overcome knocks.

The Cumbrians, three points off the play-off places, have lost only one of their last five league matches.

Northampton may be without Rod McDonald for the trip.

The central defender missed Tuesday's 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon and faces a late fitness test ahead of this weekend's game.

Manager Chris Wilder revealed Alfie Potter could feature after a rib injury which has kept him out of the side since December.

Marc Richards is making "fantastic progress" in his recovery from an Achilles injury and Wilder believes he could return to training in 10 days' time.
