Cobblers comeback thrills Sampson

The Cobblers conceded for the first time since December 12 when Irish striker Tadgh Purcell opened the scoring but Billy McKay and Ryan Gilligan struck back to secure the points.

Boss Ian Sampson said: "We have a good spirit at the club. Not just among the starting 11, but the whole squad have a real togetherness.

"It was typified at the end when a couple of lads went out of their way to give Billy McKay a big pat on the back. Billy is a young lad who gives everything and runs himself into the ground. He has also chipped in with a few goals lately.

"I think we are 12th in the league now and now and four points or so off a play-off place. We are in a run of good form at the moment and will be aiming in the second half of the season to at least get into a play-off place."
