Cobblers Face Busy Week After Cup Stalemate

Saturday's FA Cup stalemate at Sixfields means the two sides will meet again at Spotland on Tuesday 18 November with Cobblers assistant manager Alan Knill admitting that his side may have missed their best chance to progress to the next round.

Ian Henderson's dismissal changed the course of a game that Rochdale had been dominating but the home side were unable to make their second-half superiority count.

Before then, Northampton have two more away trips as they face Leyton Orient in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy this Tuesday and Cambridge United in League Two on Friday night.

Update - Town potentially face a third trip of the season to Fratton Park after Monday's FA Cup draw paired them or Rochdale with the winners of the Portsmouth/Aldershot replay.
