Swindon Town had wanted a loan fee for the 21-year-old in addition to his weekly wages and Wilder told the official NTFC website: "We will do a deal if it is right for us but we won't if not."
Town will now pursue other avenues after freeing up more space on the wage bill after this week's departures of Emile Sinclair and Gregor Robertson.
That means an unchanged side could be in place for the visit of Newport County on Saturday and Wilder has warned that the Welsh side will be keen to show a reaction from their heavy defeat at Cambridge United last weekend.
