The Cobblers' highlight of a poor campaign saw them pull off a major upset in September as they dumped the Reds out of the Carling Cup on penalties at Anfield.
Billy McKay and Michael Jacobs scored in a 2-2 draw before Abdul Osman struck the winning spot-kick.
The club are in the running for the EA Sports outstanding team performance award which will be handed out on March 20.
