"It's about getting a rub of the green," he told BBC Tees.
"We can't keep having performances like this and coming away and having nothing to show for it."
Town boss Stuart Gray has already commented about winning ugly. Leaving Wilson to comfort himself with a decent performace from his Hartlepool side even though they failed to get anything from the game.
"We know we're on the right road, that's the nice thing about it," Wilson continued.
"If we were getting beaten 1-0 and getting hammered it would be be a big problem.
"It's a very fine line between turning it round on the other side and winning games and going on a run which we know we can do."
