Gabbiadini Goal Of The Season

Top Goalscorer Gabbiadini
10 minutes into the game Gabbiadini struck a ball he was meant to control and to the delight of everyone it sailed into the back of the Cardiff net. Goals of this quality are few and far between from a player wearing claret and white but when it does happen it is nothing short of spectacular. From what was surely Marco's best performance in his time with the Cobblers ensured the side ran out worthy 2-1 winners.

With plenty of opportunity to add to the brace, the only dissapointment was Gabbiadini didn't manage his hat trick.

The goal itself overshadowed any in the premiership at the weekend and has put the player back in contention for a regular 1st team place after being on the bench for the opening 2 games of the season. Indeed Marco was only brought on during the Crewe game due to Darryn Stamp's unfortunate injury and seemed to lack a bit of an edge even though he scored in the 1-1 draw. He then came on as sub at Wycombe replacing Steve Morrison who had been given his first start in a Cobblers shirt. A good performance in that game, also a 1-1 draw put him back in line for a place at Ninian Park and it turned out to be a shrewd decision.

Could there be even more to come from the striker who last scored 2 goals against Blackpool, Cobblers next opponents on Friday?
