Northampton Town's new signing Shaun Harrad believes he could be the league's leading goalscorer if he had played more in the last two months. The striker, signed from Burton Albion, has 13 goals in all competitions this season but has featured in just two league games since the end of November.

Harrad told BBC Radio Northampton: "I'm very happy with the return I've made.

"I like to think I'd be up there as one of the top scorers in the league if I'd played that extra five or six games."

Harrad joined Northampton last week for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

"I can't wait to get going. I just urge the fans to come down to support us as they are the 12th man," added Harrad.

"We've got every chance of making the play offs.

"I haven't come here to finish mid-table at the end of the season and the other lads are saying the same."
