A goalless game at the Victoria Ground ended the Cobblers winning run but a point keeps them firmly on course for promotion.
Speaking to the official NTFC website afterwards, Wilder said: "It was a tough afternoon but a draw was probably fair.
"Both teams were going for the win and I thought it was a decent game. We were probably a little bit off it but you have to give Hartlepool a load of credit."
