Northampton will start their first season back at a higher level with a home game on Saturday 6 August before an away trip to Charlton Athletic one week later.
The first meeting with former boss Chris Wilder and his Sheffield United side does not come until New Year's Eve at Bramall Lane while the season is scheduled to end on 30 April with a home game against Gillingham.
