'Improving' Platt Has Plenty To Offer Town

"It’s not a miracle but it’s freed me up and it’s enabling to play with much more mobility," the veteran forward told the Chronicle & Echo.

"Having done that, and now that I’m feeling less uncomfortable during matches, my game is improving."

Platt's stats show that he has never been a regular goalscorer but his ability to bring strike partners and other teammates into the game has ensured a long career.

That was illustrated earlier this year at Championship level when he formed a good partnership with loanee Alex Nimely at Coventry City in their, ultimately doomed. bid to escape relegation.

Having worked with Aidy Boothroyd at both the Ricoh Arena and at Colchester United, the Northampton boss knows Platt's strengths very well and will be delighted to have him back to full fitness for the busy Christmas period of games that is to come.
