David Jackson has joined the directors' board at Northampton and says he plans to "help give the supporters a club and stadium to be proud of".

He said: "I am delighted to have been invited to join the board and very much look forward to working with David (Cardoza) and his father.

"Our mutual aim is to bring success to Northampton Town football club and to help give the supporters a club and stadium to be proud of. Northampton is a growing town and I hope to be able to support David and Tony's work to continue increasing the club's profile within the community."

Chairman Cardoza added: "I am delighted that David is joining the board. As well as being a personal friend of mine he is a very successful businessman who will add value to the running of the club.

On top of his significant sponsorship deal, Jackson will now be investing further funds on an ongoing basis. Cardoza continued: "After my family this will make David, through his company and this personal investment, the largest investor in the club's history. My father and I are looking at adding one or two further members to the board and I am in discussions with a number of parties."
