Late Shrimps strike deflates Cobblers

Manager Ian Sampson will see it as two points lost in his side's play-off push considering that Northampton held the lead three times and lost their final equaliser with just two minutes to go.

3,522 were well entertained at Sixfields but the majority will have left frustrated that the Cobblers remain below mid-table in League Two and still eight points off a top-seven spot.

Aldershot, who drew 2-2 at home to Lincoln City on Tuesday night are this weekend's visitors to Northampton.

'That's the worst we've played in months,' Sampson told the official club website after the game.

'We gave the ball away far too cheaply.'
