Lee Harper Now No 1 At The Cobblers

The 30 year old has joined the Cobblers after Walsall said he could leave if the Cobblers could agree a deal and has signed on for 2 years. Harper was the number 1 keeper at QPR for 4 years after spending 3 seasons at Highbury as reserve to the England stopper David Seaman. Being left out of the Walsall lineup, Harper has decided to move on and the Cobblers have aquired an experienced keeper to replace Keith Welch.

17 year old Mark Bunn was the only keeper as Keith Welch has unfortunately now been released by Northampton Town after failing to agree new terms. He had been talking about a new deal with the club but with lack of finances both parties were unable to come to an agreement and Lee Harper was brought in instead.

The Cobblers are currently looking at Luke Weaver from Carlisle who is training at the club as a reserve keeper.
