Liverpool Swoop Leads to Northampton Signing

The Cobblers boss has been promising changes for weeks as his side have slipped down the League Two table and his first move is the loan signing of Cheltenham Town midfielder Jason Taylor.

27-year-old Taylor has been described as a 'leader, an organiser, a winner' by his new boss and has been a regular in the Robins side this season with 21 appearances in total.

The move was sanctioned by new Cheltenham manager Paul Buckle, however, after he himself had a busy day in the transfer market which included the capture of three Liverpool youngsters on loan including two players capable of taking midfield roles.

Taylor will be available for Northampton's home game against Southend United on Saturday as the Cobblers look to end a run of five straight defeats.
