The 20-year-old former Luton Town and Sheffield United man did enough in pre-season to convince Boothroyd he was worth a deal until the end of the season.
"He is strong, he can be physical and he has a good engine," said the Town boss.
"He can play as well and he is really hungry and desperate to be given a chance."
Boothroyd has allowed Claudio Dias to join Corby on a month's loan with the 19-year-old free to play for the Steelmen in the FA Cup.
