Northampton Aim to Keep the Pressure On

Chris Wilder’s side head into the game in good spirits after their 2-1 victory at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday saw them move level on points with the Pilgrims at the top of the League Two table.

Town have a game in hand on Plymouth and are currently eight points clear of 4th-placed Portsmouth after a fourth successive away win.

Most pleasingly, Wilder’s squad looks even stronger with the addition of striker James Collins, the former Shrewsbury man showing straight away what a force he will be in League Two alongside Marc Richards.

Dagenham are two points above the relegation zone but have pulled off two excellent away wins of their own in recent weeks, defeating Stevenage and Exeter City.

Saturday’s game represents a homecoming for John Still, re-appointed as manager for his third spell in charge of a club he took from Non-League to League One in his previous stint.

And it means a quick rematch against the Cobblers after Still’s last game in charge of Luton, a 4-3 win for Northampton in December, saw him sacked by the Hatters shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the FA Cup 4th Round tie between either Northampton or MK Dons and Chelsea will be televised live on the BBC.
