Johnson has endured a nightmare start to life as Cobblers manager and takes his relegation-haunted side to face Wycombe at the weekend knowing that the Chairboys need the win for their own promotion prospects.

The home side will be able to call on the services of winger Betsy, who knows Johnson well from their time at Bristol City.

"They will be well organised and will be up for the game," Betsy told the Buckinghamshire Examiner.

"His pedigree is second to none and has proven it in every division.

He is a great manager and they have some good players and we have to be on our game.

"We are at home and we have to be confident."
