The experienced left-back was a free agent after ending his second spell with Coventry City and has spent most of pre-season with Northampton.
Now a one-year contract has been signed, with manager Ian Sampson hailing Hall as a 'first-class professional'.
He told the club website: "Getting a player like Marcus in is a big boost for us."
