Northampton Look For Stability On And Off The Pitch

Chairman David Cardoza has provided an update of sorts on the takeover situation but it is of the 'nothing to report' variety as he has told the official NTFC website that he cannot say much as due diligence is still taking place.

On the field, Chris Wilder is preparing for the visit of his former club Oxford United on Saturday and still searching for a settled XI which is capable of putting together a good run of form in League Two.

The manager has rightly criticised the intensity of the early season schedule and this midweek will be the first without a game for the Cobblers but results are not showing the signs of progress that could reasonably be expected of his side given the considerable changes of personnel that there have been.

Speaking after the Dagenham & Redbridge defeat on Saturday Wilder said: "We’ve got a lot of work to do on the training ground this week, we need a win to get us going again and but for the first half an hour the last two home games haven’t been good enough."
