The Cobblers manager's response to four consecutive defeats and a number of injury problems has been to sign full-back Tom Newey and central midfielder Stewart Murdoch.
31-year-old Newey arrives from Wilder's former club Oxford United while 23-year-old Murdoch joins from Fleetwood.
Wilder told BBC Radio Northampton: "In the difficult periods of your season, you need experience to shine through.
"The good players stand up and be counted and those two certainly will."
