Northampton Town: Another Day, Another Big Game

Last updated : 05 March 2015 By County Ground

Northampton have lost just one of their eleven games played since the turn of the year, away to bottom club Hartlepool United, and made it three wins on the spin when scoring the only goal of a tight game against Portsmouth at Sixfields on Tuesday.

Chris Wilder has reaped the benefit of his squad reshuffle, set in motion as soon as the transfer window was opened, with a settled goalkeeper and back four providing the foundation for Town to be a consistent threat further forward.

Eight different players have been on the scoresheet since Lawson D'Ath scored an equaliser against Southend in the first game of January that stopped a run of defeats that was dragging the Cobblers down the table.

Plymouth will be overtaken with a win at Home Park and a healthy goal difference means Northampton could be just one point from a top seven spot by the time the final whistle blows.
