Northampton V Plymouth at Sixfields Stadium - Match Preview

Widdowson unavailable for Cobblers

Northampton defender Joe Widdowson is suspended for the visit of Plymouth.

Widdowson was booked for the 10th time this season during the 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night and will begin a two-game ban.

With David Artell on the verge of a return to the squad, striker Alex Nicholls (broken leg) and defender Nana, who has been out since September 2011 with a knee problem, are the only other players unavailable to Town boss Aidy Boothroyd.

Artell recently suffered a setback in his recovery from the Achilles problem he sustained in October but the centre-back has been training this week and could come under consideration for a place in the squad on Saturday.

Nana has been training with the youth team but the right-back is nowhere near a first-team return and no date has been put on when he might be ready.

Plymouth striker Gozie Ugwu is available after extending his loan stay from Reading.

The teenager`s original one-month stay in Devon expired after Saturday`s 1-0 defeat to Oxford but the two clubs have agreed a deal to see him stay at Home Park for another eight games.

Striker Nick Chadwick is still not available. The former Everton forward was handed a six-game ban after being sent off in the Pilgrims' 4-0 defeat to Port Vale on January 5 and he will serve the last of those matches on Saturday.

Fellow striker Warren Feeney is still sidelined while Andres Gurrieri is pushing for a start after a hat-trick in a Devon Bowl victory in midweek.
