Shrewsbury captain Ian Sharps is available after a one-match ban and he could replace youngster Connor Goldson. Defender Jermaine Grandison will be assessed after picking up a knock in midweek, while midfielder Sean McAllister (hernia) is out.
Northampton Town caretaker manager Malcolm Crosby tells BBC Radio Northampton: "At the end of the day we haven't played well and when we've been in a position to win a game we haven't done it.
"The players have to stand up and be counted. They know they haven't produced the results we need.
"But we're all responsible - including myself."
