Northampton v Swindon. Match preview

Doig had to come off during the emphatic 4-0 win over Stockport on Saturday with an Achilles injury and will not be fit to face the Robins.

The versatile Jason Crowe will fill in at centre-half with Paul Rodgers coming in at right-back as Carl Magnay's season is over.

The on-loan Chelsea defender has returned to Stamford Bridge after scans revealed a stress fracture of his back.

Top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa returned for the win at the weekend after a four-game ban and opened the scoring but was not fully fit as he was suffering with a migraine which has prevented him training.

However he is expected to continue his partnership with Aleksander Prijovic up front with Scott Vernon on the bench.

Midfielder Ryan Gilligan is expected to miss at least the next three weeks after surgery on his knee problem.

Swindon will give Jamie Vincent as much time as possible to prove his fitness.

The left-back sustained a thigh injury during the first half of Saturday's 3-0 victory over Hereford, and with Wilson hoping not to change a winning line-up, he will decide before the team set off whether to risk him or not.

Jack Smith was introduced at the weekend and he would be the man to again step in should Vincent not make it.

Craig Easton has resumed training after his calf injury but Tuesday's clash could come too soon, while fellow midfielders Patrick Kanyuka (groin) and Jon-Paul McGovern (calf) remain out of action.

On-loan midfielder Owain Tudur-Jones will play his last game for the club before linking up with Wales for their World Cup qualifier against Finland, forcing him out of Saturday's match against Yeovil.

Meanwhile, Danny Wilson has revealed he has the opportunity to sign a Championship player on an emergency loan before Thursday's deadline, but he will make the decision after Tuesday's clash at Sixfields.
