Northampton V Torquay at Sixfields Stadium - Match Preview

Cobblers waiting on duo

Northampton pair Ian Morris and Matt Heath will be assessed ahead of the visit of Torquay.

Morris (groin) - signed from the Gulls over the summer - and defender Heath (calf) both returned to training on Thursday and will hope to be included in manager Aidy Boothroyd's matchday 18.

Fit-again Chris Hackett serves a one-match suspension following his red card in last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Southend.

Striker Clive Platt returned to the bench at Roots Hall having overcome his calf injury and could start against the Gulls, but Lewis Hornby (back), Kelvin Langmead (knee) and Alex Nicholls (broken leg) remain sidelined.

Torquay will be without goalkeeper Michael Poke.

Poke looked to be close to a first team return until he was dealt a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem this week.

Poke will now undergo a scan and manager Alan Knill is worried he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. It means former Exeter goalkeeper Martin Rice will continue in goal at Sixfields.

Knill has no fresh injury concerns with Kevin Nicholson having recovered from stitches in his cheek. Right-back Dale Tonge returns after serving a one-match ban and striker Elliot Benyon hopes to win his place back after recovering from concussion.
