League Division Two
Notts County v Northampton
Tue 29 Jan 7.45pm

Northampton last met Notts County way back in August under the reign of Kevin Wilson and unfortunately for the ex Walsall striker it was a game that contributed to his early departure. The game finished 2-0 to the pies and Cobblers third straight defeat of the season. Just 7 games later Kevin Wilson left the club and his former assistant Kevan Broadhurst was taken on as caretaker manager.

Ghanian Cobblers Striker - Derek Asamoah
A new face to the Cobblers lineup Derek Asamoah was given his first full start in the previous encounter but failed to make any impression in a lack lustre side. Since then he has failed to make the starting lineup but showed he is a great asset to have on the bench after a wonder strike stole all 3 points late on v Brentford.

2002 has saw a dramatic change in fortune for Town as they have taken 7 points from a possible 9 and look as if they have hit a bit of form. A win for either club would be vital for an early climb out of the relegation zone with failure adding more pressure to either sides hopes of avoiding a drop into the 3rd division next season.

A full match report will appear on this site as usual with all the important stats appearing shortly after the game. Get the oppositions view of the game from the number one Notts County site www.nottscounty-mad.co.uk run by fellow Footy Mad editor Stevo.
