Reaction: Northampton Town v Luton Town

A keenly-awaited battle between two sides looking to make the play-offs did not disappoint as James Gray scored a late winner for Northampton as they battled back from a goal down.

The Cobblers are now four points off the top-seven and manager Chris Wilder believes his side will enjoy the challenge of trying to close that gap over Easter.

"We’ve come a long way in a year," he said afterwards.

"This time twelve months ago we were battling to stay in the league and now we are battling to get into the play-offs."

Indeed, on 29 March 2014 the Cobblers were suffering a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Bury and safety looked a long away away.

Opposite number John Still was left to rue what he called some 'crazy' decisions during the game, notably the award of a penalty against his side which allowed Northampton a route back into the game.

"I felt for the players as we’ve made some mistakes in games which has led us to be beaten, but the performance was first class."
