Snow forces postponement of Colchester game

There was disappointment but the manager believed the decision by the referee to postpone the game was the right one.

Stuart Gray said, "The referee had a look and with the snow there was just no roll on the ball. Had the game gone ahead it would have been a farce. We are not in control of the weather and we had a huge snowfall between 4pm and 5pm."

"Colchester and their manager Paul Lambert agreed the conditions were unsafe and I think the referee made the right decision. Even if it had thawed the goalmouth may well have been waterlogged anyway."
