Wycombe Preview

Last updated : 05 April 2002 By

Paul McGregor has become the latest casualty before the Cobblers face Wycombe Wanderers in Saturday's game. McGregor picked up a knee injury and is likely to be replaced by Marco Gabbiadini, another striker who has missed the last two matches also with a knee injury.

The other doubt for the Cobblers is Duncan Spedding who like his other injured teamates also has a knee injury.

Meanwhile Richard Harris for the Chairboys is to sit the game out after picking up a hamstring strain at Tranmere, only his second appearance for the club. Harris a loan signing from Crystal Palace has failed to make an impression with the Wycombe supporters due to his injury is likely to enable Jermaine McSporran to be recalled.

Wycombe are a side that the Cobblers have lost to already this season at a time when they were rock bottom of the league. Andy Rammell was the culprit scoring the goals for the Chairboys and he is still looking dangerous after scoring at the win at Tranmere.

Wycombe have never managed to beat the Cobblers at Sixfields in 4 attempts and the average goals scored between the two sides remains at one a piece. Cobblers and Chairboys only have a history dating back to the 1993/94 season after Wycombe managed to climb out of the GM Vauxhall conference the year before. Wycombes future as a league club has never been in doubt ever since.

The game itself on paper looks pretty much like a draw with the stats below showing how close the teams are regarding current form.
