Cobblers 1-2 Cheltenham Town

Jamie Forrester gave Town a 24th minute lead, smashing home from close range following a Marco Gabbiadini cross. The visitors then wasted two goalden opportunities before Julian Alsop equalised in the 31st minute. Following a ricochet off two Cobblers defenders, Alsop stroked the ball home, unmarked from just inside the penalty area.

Town came out strong in the second half but a combination of wasted possession and misplaced passing let them down. On loan Richard Forsyth headed home a corner after 61 minutes to snatch the points for the Robins. Sub Derek Asamoah forced a good save out of Brook at the end and Ian Sampson came close in the final minute, but Town are now looking over thier shoulders at the relegation battle.
