Wycombe 1-1 The Cobblers

Jamie Forrester netted his first goal of the season to give the Cobblers a deserved point following a battling performance at Wycombe.

Teanager Steve Morrison made his full Cobblers debut in place of the injured Darryn Stamp, in a game that took a long time to get going.

Town dominated possession in the opening 30 minutes but failed to really make an impact, then the floodlights failed. Referee Clive Wilkes delayed the game for around 30 minutes following the power failure.

The break did the home side good and Darren Currie opened the scoring with a fluke goal. Chris Hargreaves fouled Danny Senda and Currie swung in the free kick. What appeared to be a cross, eluded everyone and crept in the far corner past the helpless Lee Harper. Even Currie had a surprised smile on his face.

Jamie Forrester equalised in the 69th minute, racing onto a poor clearance from Mark Rogers before volleying the ball past Martin Taylor.

The home side then had two good chances of their own. Harper saved well from Steve Brown's thunderbolt from eight yards, before he denied Currie a second saving his 20 yard drive.

Sean Devine forced another good save from Harper in injury time but Town stood firm to claim a good point.
