Brighton game off

Match referee Fred Gaham was concerned about potential injuries and postponed the game with many fans in or around the Brighton area.

"The game was postponed for reasons of safety," Graham said.

"If the match had kicked off at 1pm, it would probably be playable but at 3pm it would only have got colder."

Cobblers boss Stuart Gray said

"Games were being called off up and down the country but that does not make it any less frustrating. It was disappointing after all the planning and preparation that had gone into getting ready for the game."

"It was disappointing for us as players and staff, but even more so for the fans who were either already here or who were still travelling."
