Whatever the result of Saturday's game between Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town, fans of both clubs will be able to see the key moments on Channel 5's new Football League Tonight programme which airs for the first time at 9pm on the opening day of the season.
It is refreshing to see that Channel 5 intend to make full use of the rights they have acquired, showing the action before Match of the Day on the BBC rather than as an afterthought as has been the case over the past few years.
They have also stated their intention to show a programme even when there have not been Championship fixtures (during the international break for instance).
Let's hope there are some Cobblers goals to cheer in the first programme!
