Gray disappointed with Dons defeat

"We had a chat in the dressing room and I was disappointed that the effort and commitment we showed in our last two games was not at the same level today.

"We need to make Sixfields a fortress but we also need results on our travels and we have to dig in and get a result when required.

"We couldn't reach the performance levels of our last two games and we stepped away from doing the basics right in this game.

"I have been involved in a lot of local derbies and all that matters is the result. I have to apologise to the fans because we didn't get the result we wanted and now we have to wait a long time before we can put this result right.

"We lost our concentration at a set play and we paid the price for it. The linesman flagged for the goal straight away and whether we thought the ball had crossed the line or not it doesn't matter.

"Our ball retention was poor and our quality of passing was poor. We had four or five who were not at it today but we have to try to put it right in the Millwall game next Saturday."
