Mr Crossley did not adhere himself to Town's supporters and management when he took charge of last seasons controversial play off semi final second leg at Mansfield, turning down a late appeal for a penalty after a foul on Derek Asamoah.
He also failed to book Mansfield's Tom Curtis for a kick at Eric Sabin (it would have been his second yellow of the game), the midfielder scoring seconds later from the resultant free kick adjudged by town fans to have been given the wrong way.
Unfortunately, there is nothing the club can do about the situation but they have voiced their concerns to the Football League.
