ITV DIGITAL - WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP YOUR FOOTBALL CLUB?

Last updated : 28 March 2002 By
Their arrogance in promoting matches of bigger clubs as the only ones to watch, changing kick off times to antisocial hours of the day, and forcing fans
who have already paid to pay again to watch their team has caused our once
beautiful game to become a shambles.

Now is the time for the football fan to fight back. Lets hit them where it
hurts: in the pocket. We will be organising boycotts of ITV programmes,
to highlight to the advertisers that it isnt just their digital channel that
cannot make the viewing figures. If ITV charged a fairer deal, worked with
BSKYB, or even just listened to the fans in the first place, then this would
never have happened.

Yet again it is the clubs such as the Cobblers who are suffering from the greed of the large media companies by charging us to watch football that was available not so long ago for free. We have all made mistakes in the past by buying these selected games when it involves a team we are interested in and as a consequence football is now out of the reach of the fans that football was intended for.

The rise and rise in the cost of players wages, tv deals, greedy shareholders and the great divide between the Premiership and the Football league have now left the working mans game too expensive for the working man. To go and watch a game of football as a familly is now as expensive as a whole day out elsewhere. It is time to take action and make football available to all.

Sign up, and save football.
