Still more signings on the way

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd says he needs two more players to complete his squad after all the activity that took place on transfer deadline day.

Boothroyd isn’t finished there though and he is on the look out for more new recruits as he aims to steer bottom-of-the-table Cobblers to survival in npower League Two.

“It’s certainly the biggest period I’ve ever known in a January transfer window but surgery was needed and we’re still working on doing some other things,” he has been quoted as saying.

“I came very close (to getting more players in). In some instances some players were either going to be permanents or loans and there was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing to see whether they were going to leave their clubs or they were going to be loans for us because they had issues they needed to resolve with their clubs."

It all points to a very interesting team selection for Saturday's home game with Macclesfield Town after all the comings and goings at Sixfields this week.
