Westwood breaks the 'We never score from a corner' jinx.

When captain Ashley Westwood scored in the 38th minute of the home game v Shrewsbury, it was not only his first goal for the Cobblers but signalled the end of the 'We never score from a corner' campaign which has lasted since the away game at Boston last year. The last goal scored from a corner by a Cobblers player was by Chris Willmott in the 90th minute of their away game at Cambridge on 6 March 2004. The Cobblers won 1 - 0 on that day.
